So, the morning after lugging 4 tons of MOPAR stuff home with us, we needed to go out and actually SEE what we had. Since we had loaded most of it in the dark, we really didn't know. The trunk was full of crap...heads, rear end gearing, axles, tennis shoes, easy off cans, coffee cans, the spare, this, that, the other thing. We spent the morning cleaning and chucking stuff. Here's what we ended up with:

Once we got to this stage, we jumped right in with a wire wheel, a drill, and LOTS of POR-15.

Wheeling the rust:

Applying the POR-15:

All surfaces were treated as indicated by the manufacturers of POR-15. Cleaned, prepped with Metal-ready, and then brushed on to the rusty areas. The stuff works like a charm, and while I know it's not for everybody, it's more than good enough for me. The first coats of POR were the silver metal-filling POR, and the last coat was plain 'ol black.

Not pictured in the above links is the engine bay in POR black(came out really great!), and the refreshing of the seam sealer(nasty stuff!), and re-insertion of the body plugs. We have since installed a carpet kit and bucket seats.

So anyways, those were the first 3 days of owning this fine piece of American steel...things slowed up and we didn't make quite the progress we'd hoped(we also forgot about taking pictures).
