Update 28 Sept 1998
This is my 1969 beetle a little over a year after I bought it. I cannot seem to find the pictures of the day it was towed to the house. I have begun to work on it as you can tell. I have sanded off most of the 2 previous bad paint jobs. I have replaced one fender on the passenger side front. The head light bucket was pushed in from an accident. I didn't feel like messing with the fender as I dont think I would be able to pull out the headlight bucket and make it look right. So I replaced the fender and I think the other side will need the same treatment. I will also need a new hood as the one on there was pushed flat against the spare tire. I have found a lot of body filler in the rear fenders. The rear apron and decklid were trashed in similar fashion. The rear apron was cut out for a stinger exhaust and the stock openings were filled in . The apron had in excess of 3/8" of body filler in it. So I drilled out the spot welds and got a replacement one. The deck lid was replaced with one I got from a junkyard. Not bad considering it was only $15 and it was in real nice shape.
