Hurricane Katrina
August 29, 2005

This was Wednesday, just a couple of days after the storm. The weather was very hot, clear skies. No power obviously, and the house was still boarded up. The humidity in the house had to have been 100%, everything was still dripping wet. The smell was pretty bad also... moldy, musty, wet dog smell. Not to mention that the fridge had been off for 3 days. It was banging around against the wall when it was floating... it didn't flip because it was still plugged in.
The thing about getting flooded that is that everything in the house floats around and then settles back where ever it was when the water goes down. Well, at least everything was still in the house, unlike some people that came home to a slab.... house washed away and everything washed down the street, mixed with debris and all the neighbors junk.
Yeah it looks like a mess alright. Not too bad, huh? Just need to dry things out and it'll be ok right? riiiiight... It gets better. How could it be any worse?
