Hurricane Katrina destroyed my Beetles!!!

Sadly I had to total out the 69. It was destroyed by 4 feet of salt water. It turned into a complete pile of rust and funk. There was salt water over the dash, and the engine had been eaten away from the inside and just totally ruined. There was rust and mold in every crack. I would have had to start all over again and it probably would have rusted away in a few years.

I will post pictures later. It just pisses me off to think about it.

I will keep the pages up on the heater channel replacement and all the work I did over the years, even though it is long gone.

Rust in peace.

This is my 69 wagen page. here you can see the full 8 year process I have taken to rebuild my 1969 VW Beetle. I am rebuilding this car from the ground up. The body has come off this car to access all the areas so I can rebuild and repaint and repair/replace all the components. I am replacing the floor pans, and replacing the heater channels. Each image is clickable to see a larger view. Some pages may take a while to load as there are about 300 pictures documenting my progress. The updates page has lots of pictures over the years, so enjoy.
