I had to make another patch for the where the fender attaches. As you can see the nut plate is rusted away, along with a lot of the original metal. So I cut another piece out of the original fender, then I had to bend the patch in the right shape. I drilled a hole for the bolt to go through and welded a 13mm nut on the backside of the hole. To make sure it was in the right position, I fit the fender back on the car and clamped the patch and welded it up. There is a lot of rust in that heater channel but it is going to get cut out and replaced.

Final Fit and weld. This area will need a little more attention for the final body work. I need to grind a little bit more and fill in some low areas with some body filler... just a skim coat to make everything blend in, not gobs to fill in a rust hole like your typical backyard bondo bucket bodyman!... lol
